Intersect: The Enterprise-Class EHR

The Intersect EHR™ has a number of advanced functionalities generally not found in EHRs offered to hospital organizations beyond those with large financial assets. These features combine to increase efficiency and promote high quality patient care. Included are:

  • Scanning and image management which delivers a fully integrated document scanning and document management solution. Scanning and image management permit paper-based documentation to be included in the electronic medical record. This feature provides healthcare organizations with the tool to facilitate the migration from paper records to the EHR.

  • Highly organized information. Users save valuable time that otherwise would be spent searching for information. Intersect organizes your information so that you won't have to search for it. It is arranged at the forefront of your view where it is immediately available.

  • Configurable views to meet the individual requirements of each user and improve ease of use. Users see only information that is required for their practice specialty. Different specialty care providers see different data-points on their initial screen.

  • Individual preferences. Intersect knows your preferred diagnosis, orders, search, and sites with a single click. Keyword searching, including automated dynamic preview functionality makes it easier to locate and create documents. Clinical calculators and reference materials are available on any page.

  • Mobile access. Intersect can be accessed from anywhere with an Internet connection so providers won't have to leave their home or office to view test results, order new tests, review nursing notes or update charting information.

  • Care Teams. Easily create and administer Care Teams, a core component of the new healthcare delivery model.

  • Population Health Management. Intersect Population Health Management allows clinicians to coordinate health maintenance activities such as routinely scheduled physicals, blood tests, mammograms, and physical therapy. It automates healthcare coordination components for the hospital and supports a breadth of features for improving best-practice methodologies within any organization.

  • Alerts, reminders and secure messaging. Intersect reminds you when things need to be done through the use of an "inbox" and team reminders. Clinical inbox alerts are provided for a variety of conditions such as overdue tests and abnormal results.

  • Evidence-based medicine and best practices are supported by means of order sets, clinical pathways, and treatment protocols.

  • Comprehensive drug interaction checking including drug-to-drug, drug-to-allergy, drug to food, drug-to-lab test intersections prevent complications.

  • Smart navigation. Clinicians go room-to-room, floor-to-floor where interruptions are common. Intersect remembers "where you were" within the system when you were called away for an emergency, so there is less chance of an inadvertent error when you return.

  • Common user interfaces for the clinic and hospital so providers don't need to spend time and lost productivity learning multiple EHR applications.

No longer do clinicians need to settle for a poor-performing, cumbersome-to-use EHR that was brought to the market for hospitals with modest budgets because they couldn't afford anything else. Now affordable enterprise-class features, performance, and ease of use are available with the Intersect EHR™.
